Most people in the area are dependant upon agriculture as a main source of livelihood. This area is also prone to frequent droughts. Training initiatives on rainwater harvesting, intercropping patterns, improved implements and seeds are provided to small and marginal farmers. The use of chemical fertilizers is discouraged and the bio fertilizers and vermin composts are encouraged. Traditional crops, typical to the area are being encouraged and demonstrated and traditional methods of irrigations are again being encouraged. The work is being undertaken for the renovation of the traditional irrigation channels in the villages and community tube wells have been dug for use by groups of farmers.

People are being supported for the jobs under NREGA and also being provided small grants for starting their own business.
